West Seattle / M3 Bodyworks

Alison Kennedy, LMP

I graduated from the extended program at Cortiva Institute in Seattle, 2011. In June 2012, I completed my certification in pediatric massage through the Liddle Kidz Foundation. I have a focused specialization with children on the autism spectrum and with ADHD.

Our bodies harbor memories of each little bump and bruise. In addition to the aches we experience, our memories can fuel feelings of anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. If we consider our own physical or psychological traumas we have experienced and how massage has helped us, then consider how massage may affect a child. Why wait for 20, 30, 70 years when the scars have built up, being injured and re-injured over years of use? Children can stand to benefit from even a single session of massage. I seek to provide that opportunity to children and adults of all ages.

Alison practices: Injury Treatment, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Swedish, Pediatric, Neuromuscular and Structural Techniques.

Christian Jocobson, LMP

The focus of my massage practice is to draw upon a variety of massage techniques and approaches to facilitate the unique goals of each client. This includes soft-tissue injury treatment, pain management and abatement, increasing mobility, and relaxing and rejuvenating your body and spirit.

Christian Practices: Structural Relief Therapy, Injury treatment, Swedish, Muscle Energy Technique, Sports Massage

Dan Israel, LMP

Having worked previously in a physically demanding job as well as getting some time in as a desk jockey, I have a good sense of the kind of pain relief my clients are looking for.

Darin Stumme, LMP

In my philosophy: Massage shouldn't hurt. Period. When your body is craving pain-reduction, it’s counter-productive to inflict pain in the name of health. By forcing tissues to stretch or move before they're ready to move, a person can actually create new injuries or invoke systemic or local traumatic stress response — the exact things I strive to help my clients heal.

Instead, I listen to my client’s body and allow it to direct my attention. This allows me to address a wide variety of physical issues and complaints -- acute injuries, chronic pains, stored traumas and anxieties held throughout the body. Whether you're extremely athletic or just somewhat, large or small, young or old: my treatment is gentle, powerful, and extremely effective.

I graduated from Discoverypoint School of Massage in 2013, although I've been training in bodywork since 2009, and I've completed several in-depth continuing education programs since graduating. I assist and teach up at Discoverypoint, and I'm very committed to ongoing learning and improvement as a practitioner.

Darin practices: Myofascial & structural decompression, Intra-oral / TMJD treatment, Lymphatic facilitation & injury treatment, Neuromuscular & Muscle Energy treatment, Craniosacral therapy, Visceral manipulation, Swedish and Sports massage.

Icyle Duran, LMP

Within the last twenty years my career history has primarily been within fields of wellness, care, and rehabilitation. Of those years, fifteen were spent as a veterinary technician in small animal medicine. The five years following were devoted to working with at risk youth and women coming out of domestic violence and homelessness. Stepping into this next phase, I am enjoying working one on one with people from all walks of life that seek a healing touch through massage.

My goal is to assist our clients in achieving effective recovery from soft tissue injury and offer a means to maintain relief from an accumulation of stress and tension. I am all inclusive and actively focus on creating a safe space for those who I serve.

Being part of the LGBT community, I greatly understand that it is essential to be regarded as a whole being. Often, those within this community are subject to criticism, objectification and stigma. I recognize this and will do my part to bring comfort and ease to all clientele.

Many blessings <3

Nick Jones, LMP

Emotion and tension can both be intertwined throughout the body from as early as childhood, and my goal going into each massage is to assist all my clients in achieving relief from stresses they may have even forgotten they carried with them. I like to think of my massage as client centered at its core; my massage is tailored to individual needs and I'll do everything I can within my scope of techniques to help all my clients work toward goals we set together. I strive through professional touch and compassion to give people some refuge of love and healing in their day to day existence.

Nick Practices: Myofascial Techniques, Deep Tissue, Nueromuscular Techniques, Clinical/injury Treatment, Structural Bodywork, and pregnancy massages.

Chris Officer, LMP

Chris is a believer that a therapist's responsibility is to facilitate the body's natural desire to heal itself. His goal is to promote overall wellness and complete body integration for his clients by addressing the root of misaligned systems, and does not believe that painful treatment has to go hand-in-hand with healing - subtle work can produce great results with a minimum of discomfort. Chris' approach is gentle and client-focused, and he encourages two-way communication with his clients as they develop short and longer-term treatment plans together.
